Remember Filey Butlins documents life at the former Butlin’s Filey holiday camp through the voices of those who worked there, holidayed there and lived nearby. The book is illustrated with photography spanning the history of the camp.
Built by Billy Butlin in 1939, Filey Butlins was a very popular holiday destination in the 1960s and 70s, at its peak, the camp accommodated 11,000 visitors, with 175,000 visitors in total during the 1975 season. As with many of English holiday camps it fell from favour with the British public when cheap foreign holidays became available in the 80s and 90s. It closed its doors in 1983.
This A4 size, 80 page book is printed on a heavy gauge paper in full colour with an 8 page fold-out section. The book was only produced as a short print run and has instantly become a very collectable item.
